    1. this was an exciting interview for me. i know, and at one time trained along side roger decarlis. i trained WITH his brother pete back in the late 70′s into the early 80′s. i wonder if bill remembers mid city gym on the busy corner of genesee street. roger still trains almost daily. the owner of the former mid city gym, bob sfier, trains at the gym in which i train. we talk about the old mid city days and i will mention bill to him. i recall bills name being mentioned constantly at mid city. i don’t believe i ever met him though. i concurr with bill. i remember a picture that hung on the wall at mid city of roger decarlis as he appeared in winning mr. empire state. he was unbelieveable when in top shape. i’m sure bill would remember tom ciola, who left utica for florida. great days, great times, great people. thanks once again dave for providing these interviews. this one in particular really hit home for me.

    2. Dave, I have to thank you for all the great material you’ve had lately on this site! First it was the Chad Shaw interview, then the excellent piece on the Mike Mentzer Experience, and now this great interview with Bill. Even setting aside all the fantastic HIT info in this interview, the story about the “incident” at the gym has to be the all-time funniest gym story I’ve ever heard!

    3. Dave,
I 2nd what Captain Puny has stated above! Really Thank you Very much for the hard work you put into the site and helping many train Safely,Efficently and Effectively!

    4. Very interesting interview buddy, really enjoyed it.

    5. I really enjoyed hearing Bill reminisce about Mike Mentzer’s insight and personal interest in Bill’s training. It made me recall my only contact with Mike – a short phone call of less than five minutes when I ordered a book from him. I was pleasantly surprised that he personally answered the phone to take the order, and remember that in that short few minutes he displayed more of a genuine interest in my progress and success than most people will do in years; he displayed an astounding degree of warmth and respect. I’m grateful that he walked among us, though for too short of a time to my liking.

    6. Love the interview – thx for mentioning my name Dave! – I did actually go from 5 to 17 in 2 and a half weeks…and that after food poisoning ! – shows how brutally inroading this exercise can be. Great stuff Bill!!!

    7. [...] squats in some time and due to the position that it puts my shoulders. As you may have noted in my interview with Dave Durrell, I had re-constructive surgery on my shoulders almost a decade ago, that left some residual issues [...]

    8. WOW thanks Dave for keeping the H.I.S. (High Intensity Spirit)sky high…Thanks 2 all the guys 2..:D

    9. Awesome audio feed.. Very inspiring to hear and know that HIT is still alive :)
