  • And The Winners Are…..

peyton-manning-with-super-bowl-trophy1Congratulations to our blog contest co-champions: Java Jon Soto and Dave Erickson! These guys took action, spent the time to think about their goals for this year, and took an additional few minutes to post them here. I have no doubt that the action of commiting to their goals, and having the courage to post them on the internet for the whole world to see, will foster a state of mind in them that will skyrocket them toward their achievement.

These guys have proven that they are action takers. They will be rewarded for the action they take toward their goals, which they have described for us here. And I am about to reward them for taking action and posting their goals here. That’s how life works, folks-take action, get rewarded.

Dave already owns the High Intensity Muscle Building program, and will be utilizing it during his training for a marathon this year (more on this later). Therefore, his prize is:

    • Free Personal Training Consultations with me via e-mail from now until his marathon on May 16, 2009
    • Free One-on-One training with me when he comes to Florida on vacation next month.

I will still offer chapter one of my book High Intensity Muscle Building to any one who is serious about setting, and committing to, their goals this year. The chapter is titled “The Power of Commitment”, and includes some powerful forms you can use for goal setting. Just post a comment here telling us what goals you are committing to, and I will send it to you free.

Goal setting is essential to productive achievement. By clearly spelling out what you want to accomplish, setting a deadline, and why this thing is important to you, you program your mind to find ways to move you in the direction of your goal.

You can’t hit a target if you don’t have one-or if you can’t see it clearly, at least in your mind’s eye.

So take some time to think about what you want to accomplish this year, write it down, and committ to it. Post it here, and post your progress throughout the year so we can see how you’re doing and help if we can.

Let’s all help each other make 2010 the best year ever!

    Happy goal achievement,

    Dave Durell

    Java Jon’s Post:

    Untitled 0 00 10-03

My fitness goals for 2010 are to put on muscle, loose fat, and get as healthy as possible with respects to the upcoming Spartan Training. Why is this important to me? First of all, I love it! Secondly, our bodies are a temple. We can fill them with good things or we can fill them with junk. I choose good things, namely my personal Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him I am not. My hope is that He will reveal Himself to each and every one of you so that you might experience His undefinable grace.
My numerical goals are 200 lbs lean mass in 2010, with personal record breaking endurance, speed, and strength. By 2011, I should have tripled my fitness, at least. Who will witness my progress? I challenge you all to hold each other accountable in this. Who will join Dave, Patty, and the rest of us? Who will try High Intesity Training, this year, for a change?

    Dave’s Post:

    Dave Erickson

My fitness goals in 2010 are to improve my diet, increase lean body mass and increase overall strength and conditioning in preparation for my second marathon in as many years.

In an effort to remain active through the L-L-L-long Wisconsin winters I have learned to commit to goals which will challenge my fitness limits, be an example to my children in their fitness and to use the marathon as a tool for helping others through humanitarian relief organizations like WorldVision, whom I have partnered with this year in raising funds for their mission. Since I am running, it must be with a purpose. Check out Hebrews 12:11-13 if your interested.

I look forward to being held accountable to my commitment through this post, my commitment to WorldVision, my training partners at the Green Bay Cellcom Marathon on May 16, 2009 and the from the High Intensity Nation.
